A Guide For Models

A Guide for Models,
model portfolios,
how to become a model and modeling opportunities
wanting to become a
model is one of the primary things that you will need on your road to
glamour modeling, to become an icon of
beauty and glamour and seduce the camera. This is a short guide that may help you on your way.
There are many
model sites out there that will promise you help of becoming a
model, many
photographers who will offer free tfcd shoots. And still quite a few
model agents who will promise you the earth. Hopefully we can help you avoid such pitfalls and help you to become the
model that you have dreamed of becoming.
Sadly
modeling is not all about
fame, glamour, and fun (of course you are allowed to have fun and i am sure that you will). but
modeling is hard work. stunning looks alone cannot provide you a living in the
modeling world you will you need to put your brain before your
beauty. You need the right looks, a fit and healthy body of the right shape and size. A good attitude and a helping of luck.
As with any career the most important thing to find out is, is it right for you.
Make sure that you fill the criteria, in the case of
modeling the physical requirements for
modeling work. Sadly if you are 5feet tall the
fashion modelingis not for you,
glamour modeling is still in the running for you as there are
no height requirements.
Next it’s time to start thinking about how you are going to market yourself.
Modeling is all about looks so your
portfolio is the single most important thing for you to get right, a poorly
shot portfolio will just not "cut it" in today’s markets as there are so many girls out there. You need to make yourself stand out in the crowd. Ideally choosing a
photographer who has
experience in magazine work as they will know how to make you shine and show you off to your very best in a way editors are looking for.
Attitude is all important, even if you are having a bad day it is always important to answer emails turn up on time and have a positive attitude while working with photographers. You may not be getting a big contract yet but if the photographer has worked with you and remembers that the shoot went well he will keep you in mind for his next clients.
Have realistic goals about your modeling and about what you expect to achieve. Always aim high, and put 100% into it. The secret to getting success is expecting success but don’t be too down heartened if you fail once in a while (you will often find that failure will lead to better things in the future).
Do a little soul searching and ask yourself why you want to become a model. Know your own strengths there is more to modeling than thinking you are beautiful and believing that you can do it.
You need more than a few brain cells to become a successful model you have to be reliable, and willing to learn. You will need to be able to take direction as well as submit your own ideas. You may only play a small part on a large photo shoot but you need to play it well. So three things the right body, a good brain and a good attitude
What you can do with your body
Disappointing as it may be, you will never be a fashion model if you are short and chubby. Likewise, you will never be a glamour model if you don't have the body and looks, and are not prepared to bear your skin.
Consider what type of modeling you want to get into and whether you satisfy the physical requirements.
